“Outside, there was that predawn kind of clarity, where the momentum of living has not quite captured the day. The air was not filled with conversation or thought bubbles or laughter or sidelong glances. Everyone was sleeping, all of their ideas and hopes and hidden agendas entangled in the dream world, leaving this world clear and crisp and cold as a bottle of milk in the fridge. ”

“Do you ever get the feeling like you already know the entire contents of the universe somewhere inside of your head, as if you were born with a complete map of this world already grafted onto the folds of your cerebellum and you are just spending your entire life figuring out how to access this map?”

  1. Fantastic quotations!! Thank you for sharing. Reminded me of an experience I had several years back when I was in a rhythm of meditating at 3:30 a.m. What a peaceful, undisturbed time to commune with Life. I hadn’t heard of Reif Larsen and appreciate the reference to his work.

    1. Thank you Helen, I am happy at discovering this writer, I started with the photos and then looked for appropriate quotation, a useful exercise in order to discover new sayings and writers. Have a lovely day.

  2. I have to admit that I don’t know (yet) who Reif Larsen is, but I love the quotes, so I very soon now shall know much more about him, and for that I thank-you. And beautiful birds also, so thanks again.

  3. Love these quotes/ Yes, I have felt that before but could never express it. It looks like the birds have it all worked out though. I like the one who looks like the director telling them what is going to happen next. Are they starlings?
