“What we do see depends mainly on what we look for. … In the same field the farmer will notice the crop, the geologists the fossils, botanists the flowers, artists the colouring, sportsmen the cover for the game. Though we may all look at the same things, it does not all follow that we should see them.”
John Lubbock, The Beauties of Nature and the Wonders of the World We Live in.
A variety of rhododendron flowers in beautiful shades.
And Azalea’s too!
My sister smelling the Lilac flowers, a sure favourite of her and mine.
These flower photos I took in the gardens of Rolf’s Country House, (http://rolfscountryhouse.com/) in Baltimore, Ireland. We partook of a lovely cup of coffee and some scrumptious cakes and pies, to celebrate the birthday of one of my grandchildren. The garden is interesting and beautiful.
Thank you! Flowers for Mother’s Day:)

Always love the flowers wherever they are, including other people’s gardens 🙂

What a lovely setting – though we are on the opposite sides of the world we too have azaleas blooming; such is climate change.

Interesting that Mary. Here the more exotic Rhododendrons and Azaleas bloom early in the year, some even bloom in January. This is due here because the gulf stream coming from Mexico bay reaches this S.W. part of Ireland. It gives a mild winter.

I am glad to know that you don’t suffer the severest of winters. I can’t bear the cold.

I really enjoyed your wonderful photos. In a way our photos are very similar. If you ever come to Germany you should take a look in our garden. You would like it. I wish you a wonderful, sunny, warm springtime, kind regards Mitza

Ireland is still on my bucket list, dear Agnes. But right now we are looking for a house and as it is far away, it takes a lot of time. I don’t even want to think about the removal. Kind regards Mitza

and so you have me laughing delightedly with these flowers! reminds me…the first three times I went to Winterthur Garden in the Brandywine Valley in Delaware, I never made it inside to see all the antiques…just flew out, and stayed and stayed in the garden…azaleas, flowering dogwood, later peonies…I never wanted to go in…HAAAA to the day!
