LIFE AND DEATH

My friend Mary Suzuki passed away at 12:00 noon today. She was a good friend, we were planning to go see an exhibition in the city soon, but alas she went on her way. She was a woman full of the joys of living. We used to go to a lovely Indian restaurant in the place where she lived and chat for hours over delicious foods and a glass of wine, trying to come up with an understanding of humankind it’s joys and it’s problems. I will miss her very much, but I am happy that she had a good and happy life.

  1. How sad to loose a friend. I came across this saying today – “Death leaves a heartache no one can heal,
Love leaves a memory no one can steal.” And Mary has obviously left you with those memories and in those memories she will live on.

  2. Hard to lose a friend. Reading this made me wonder how many of us, at the end of the day, will have a close friend saying, “she had a good and happy life.” Simple words that say so much, I am sorry for your loss

  3. It breaks my heart to hear this. I am no stranger to loss. It teaches us our capacity to love like no other lesson and also fills us with empathy when others are forced to feel it. Just as I feel for you. My deepest condolences Agnes.

  4. Thank you for your kind words James. We are powerless in the face of death, we can only accept it gracefully and honour the memory of a dear friend. And make the best of time we have together like you so poignantly said.
